My favorite thing so far about getting relatively much new products in a short amount of time is that I can do a whole makeup look with all the new products. I bought the products in the three months I stayed in the USA but I only used a few, because I wanted to take my time to test them out, make pictures and write about them on Weeks of Beauty.
So here we are with the first full makeup look with new products :).
This look has been made with a lot of new products! The only products I were already familiar with is the bronzer, the mascara and the concealer I used.
Can see see what collection really spoke to me in Sephora? haha. (Peachessss!)
I first gave my face a little hydration boost with the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea marine boosting mist (it came in one of my Sephora Play! boxes). It’s nice and hydrating but not very special in my opinion.
I primed my face with the Too Faced Peaches & Cream Primed & Peachy (cooling matte perfecting primer) and I loved this one! I am really sensitive for scents that products have and besides the Benefit Porefessional Primer I had yet to find a primer of which I could stand the smell. This primer feels really nice on the skin (not really cooling, more just nice) and has a pink color for perfecting the skin. I’m not sure if it really made my skin matte but it definitely didn’t make my skin shining. The smell is peachy just like all the other products in the Peaches & Cream collection, but where the foundation and mist are really obvious, the primer just smelled fresh what I really liked.
Next came the Too Faced Peaches & Cream Peach Perfect Foundation. I bought this one after a little makeover in Sephora. I dislike foundations in general because of how it makes my skin feel but this one is one I can keep up with for specials moments (I usually don’t wear foundation). Since I am quite luckily with my skin (I only have a bit of a break out on my chin now and then but usually my skin is even and kinda glowing) I didn’t want a full coverage foundation. This foundation is light weight, not to heavy in coverage and has a matte finish what makes my skin looks like porcelain.
I do feel like that the smell of this foundation is wayyyyy to in your face. It’s a product that also goes on and near the nose so your keep smelling it until you take your makeup off. Not really my preference unfortunately.
For concealer I used the Colourpop No Filter concealer which I already owned before. It’s kind of liquidy and has a medium coverage because of how liquidy it is. The color is a little bit too light for me so I mixed it with the Kat von D Lock It Concealer. I got a trial version of that one but the color is a bit to dark, so perfect to mix. It is a concealer I would purchase in full size, because it is full coverage and really nice to apply.
I set my foundation and concealer with the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I’ve been dying to try this powder and I even got it for free! (How? Read that in this blog!) The powder is super easy to apply, feels soft on the skin and gives my face a matte yet glowy finish without any awkward color from the powder itself. Why didn’t I try this powder before!?
On my face I used the bronzer from the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow palette. I’ve been using this palette everyday for the last three months because I couldn’t take any more blushes, highlighters and bronzers with me to the USA and I fell in love! I already liked it and used the highlighter often, but the blush and bronzer suit me so well (I think) so I now I almost (almost 😉 ) don’t see the point of other highlighters and blushes, haha. I’ve been loving it that much!

For blush I used the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure (mini). I choose this one because I like the brown/earth in the blush, so I wouldn’t be a Barbie doll with bright pink cheeks, haha. It swatches as a really soft pink and it’s very subtle on the cheeks. I wanted to try the Ambient Lighting face powder or one of the highlighters by Hourglass first, but when I swatched them I was kind of disappointed. The highlighters I tried were not that special and the face powders didn’t do that much, so I didn’t see the value of purchasing those.
I was so excited that I could finally buy the hyped Wet ‘n Wild highlighters! I bought two of them and their quality is amazing! Amazing in general but definitely when you look at the price tag: it’s a budget highlighter! I used the Wet ‘n Wild megaglo highlighting powder in 323B Botanic Dream and I can tell you: it’s blinding! For my skin this one is a little bit too pink though but I can totally also use it for eyeshadow. I’ve read so many good things about the megaglo highlighters and now I’ve experienced why.
I already added these pictures in the beginning of this blog but I just want to show them again because I love the quality of this highlighter so much. Usually when a highlighter is blinding, it’s still hard to show it on a picture since I just use my phone for the pictures. But this highlighter is so amazing that you can actually see it really well on the picture. But yeah, enough fangirling about the Wet ‘n Wild megaglo highlighter. It wouldn’t surprise you that I definitely recommend them, right? 😉
For eyeshadow I used the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalous and I love it so much that I will be posting a separate review on it this Sunday, so stay tuned!
To finish the look I fixed my makeup with the Too Faced Peaches & Cream Peach Mist (in the picture with the other Peaches & Cream stuff). It dries down nice and matte. The downside is the same as the downside of the foundation though: the. smell. is. so. strong. and since I spray it all over my face, it is not something that makes me like the product more. As I said, the finish is nice, but I tend to go for my trusted Mac Fix+ because I like the subtle scent to that and the finish is not that different. If you are going for a completely matte look though and you can stand the smell, I would recommend you the Too Faced mist because the finish is actually nice!
Even though the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is not new for me (like, not at all, it’s been my favorite for a while now) I did stock up on it in the USA because at some point Too Faced was having a 25% off sale and I did not complain about that :).
For a while now I have been wanting to do something with my brows, since my natural brows are so blonde that sometimes you can’t even see them. They became even more invisible when I got a tan (I stayed in Santa Barbara so the tan appeared quickly) so it was time to work on my brows. I went to the Benefit Boutique and together we figured out that the Benefit Fool Proof Brow Powder (in the lightest shade) was perfect for me. I am really happy that I started doing my brows because even though my brows are still light in color with the product on it, I like the little change it makes in my complexion.
To finish the look I tried out one of the new lipsticks I purchased in the USA and for me it’s the perfect autumn color: brown/red/orangish. Pumpkin color but also a little bit more brown and red… you know? haha. It’s the Too Faced Peach Kiss lipstick in Got Peach?. The lipstick is really creamy and pigmented. It feels really nice on the lips: moisturizing and light weight. And the only downside of this lipsticks is, as well, the strong smell. But the good thing about lipsticks is that you don’t necessarily smell them all the time!
That was everything I used on my face for this look! Keep an eye out for the review on the Marc Jacobs eyeshadow palette this Sunday and of course for more looks and reviews on the products I purchased in the USA!
