L’Oréal Paris Lumi Glow Voxbox

I received the L’Oréal Paris products in this post for free for testing and reviewing purposes. Writing a blog about the products was not mandatory for the campaign,  that was my own idea. All the opinions on Weeks of Beauty are my own and my opinions will always be honest.

Not too long ago I was one of the lucky ones that got to test out some new L’Oréal Paris products for free! It’s called a Voxbox and it’s the work of Influenster: a community where you can read about new launches and reviews written by other beautylovers. Once in a while you get an invitation by Influenster to fill out a questionnaire and when you fit the profile, you can be part of the Voxbox campaign by a certain brand.

Previously, I’ve received the Rosy Voxbox and The Origins Voxbox (still have to write about that though). You would think it too good to be true to receive free make-up, but it’s real and in this blogpost it’s happening again!

L’Oréal Paris recently came out with a whole ‘glow’ collection: the Lumi Glow collection. On this little card that was part of the Voxbox you can see what products the collection includes: Hydrating Glow Lotion, Glow Boosting Drops, Customizable Glow Palette and Prismatic Shimmer Powder.

In my pre research online I discovered that Beauty Youtubers are most satisfied with the Glow Lotion and the Prismatic Shimmer Powder and the absolute least with the Customizable Glow Palette. I was curious about all the products so for me it did not matter what products I would receive, I would be happy anyway!

I received the Glow boosting drops and the lotion. I love love love the packaging! It looks so luxurious and glowy. Perfect for Instagram, haha! (Nailpolish in the Instagram shot is Essie Satin Slipper and OPI Sunrise… Bedtime! as a topcoat).

First up: L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion natural glow enhancer in 902 Light Glow (there are four colors, mine is the second lightest).

The product feels really hydrating and nice on the skin. When it comes out of the tube it looks really tanned but when applied and buffed onto my face it’s faded a lot. The products give a really natural glow. No glitters, no shimmery shine. Just a beautiful glow. I found that it was really hard to capture it on a picture, but here is my attempt to show you the glow!

On the left side of the picture I only wore my normal moisturizer and on the right side of this picture I also wore the Glotion. It’s hard to see but on this picture you can actually see my right cheek (in this picture right) having a little more glow and just a tiny bit more tanned.

After applying my make-up, there was no difference anymore. And I don’t even wear foundation. I just applied some concealer, translucent powder in my T-zone, around my nose and under my eyes, blush and highlighter.

I think the Glotion is beautiful for no make-up days but when you do want to have a little extra in your face.

While it might be different for everyone, I do feel like I have to mention that the first time wearing the Glotion, I woke up with a red face the next day. It was not puffy or painful luckily, but the Glotion apparently did tricker a little allergic reaction. I do have that reaction with more face products though, but I have yet to find out to what ingredient the reaction is. I don’t believe that the Glotion is aggressive or bad for you skin or anything, it was just me having a reaction to one of the ingredients.

The other product I received is the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glow Amour glow boosting drops in 507 Daybreak.

This product is available in two different colors. The other color is called Golden Hour and is a beautiful gold. Daybreak is a lighter pink.

The glow on my cheekbones in these pictures are courtesy of the glow boosting drops. You only need a little drop of the product to get a nice glow. The drops were a little hard to blend with a Beautyblender on top of my other make-up. I find it much easier when I blend the product with my finger.

The only thing I do not like about the drops is that the product is really oily. It feels nice when you blend it on your skin but because I have a really oily skin myself, the product will always stay oily and that makes that the product moves around and it feels like theres a layer of oil on my cheekbones. Not ideal, haha.

Though, the glow is really pretty and you will do a while with the drops because there’s so much product in the tube and you only need a little bit at a time. The product is most perfect for people with dry skin!

From top to bottom you see: the Glotion, the Glotion blended out, the glow boosting drops and the drops blended out.

The Glotion is more blendable on the skin and the color almost completely ‘melts’ away. You can see that the pink of the glow boosting drops does not disappear (luckily) but the product is quite rough and the glitters are big. Something I’m completely fine with but it’s something I wanted to show you!

Did you already try something from the L’Oréal Paris Lumi Glow collection? What do you think?
