Yesterday I considered myself very lucky because my fellow make-up obsessed friend Yasmin (who’s starting to get famous on Instagram, you can find her beautiful looks on Instagram @solatice_) took me as her guest to a NYX Professional Makeup PR event where a lot of Dutch Influensters in the beautyworld were invited to. The event was a ‘Swatch Party’ where we could get to know all the new Spring launches by NYX but specifically the ‘I Love Mochi’ collection.
The event was at a cute café called ‘Sticky Fingers’ in Amsterdam. The whole place was decorated with pink everything and there were themed snacks like cakepops and macarons! There were quite a few nice people from the Dutch beautyscene and it was a pleasure to meet them.
This table was already made Instagram perfect and filled with new Spring Goodies. We got to swatch all the products, play with them and get ourselves a makeup look if we wanted to. I only went for a highlight touch up though, because obviously I already had a full face of makeup on because I was at an event.
The touchup was with the white highlighter in the ‘Arcade Glam’ Love You So Mochi palette. I love this palette and my highlighter was booming! The Mochi collection has two variations of this highlighter palette.
The left picture is a screenshot of Yasmin’s Instagram story because it shows how beautiful the swatches are! The right picture is a screenshot of one of my own Instagram video’s (you can follow me @weeksofbeauty) where the pink and blue swatches are of the Duo Chromatic lippies and the bottom two are of ‘Unicorn Blood’ lippies, which are absolutely beautiful! The base of the Unicorn Lippies are black with colorful glitters, making the glitters pop.
This is one of those Unicorn Blood lippies. I might be wrong but I think that these lippies are not yet launched, because I cannot find them on the NYX website! So you’ve got yourself a sneak peek on Weeks of Beauty ;).
On of my other favorite products that we could swatch was one of the Love You So Mochi eyeshadow palettes. This is the ‘Sleek and Chic’ palette. The pigmentation is great and the eyeshadows feel bouncy and squichy in the pan (hence the pits in the pans).
The other Love You So Mochi palette is a more bright colored palette, called the ‘Electric Pastels’ palette.
One of the promising launches is also the ‘Worth the Hype’ mascara, based on what Influenster would rave about in a mascara.
At the end of the event, I got to fill my own goodiebag with new NYX products and I just couldn’t believe that I got this lucky! These cute pink racks were completely filled with new NYX makeup in all different kinds of colors and everyone could pick 12 goodies! (Picture of the heavenly racks by Saskia Bagchus for NYX Netherlands).
I picked out the ‘Sleek and Chic’ Love You So Mochi palette (obviously), the Born To Glow! highlighting palette (I swatched it and wowwww so good!), five Powder Puff lippies (these lippies are part of the Mochi collection are looked really promising), two Duo Chromatic lippies, two Soft Matte Metallic Lip Creams (just like the regular lip creams but then metallic) and the Holographic Halo Finishing Powder in ‘Mermazing’ (totally going to use it as a bomb highlighter).
Unfortunately I couldn’t choose the Mochi highlighter palette and the Unicorn Blood lippies, but that’s okay because I’m already over the moon with my new goodies and I’ll just add those two to my wishlist for when I’ll visit the NYX store in Amsterdam!
Keep your eyes on Weeks of Beauty because in the next few weeks you will find out all about the new products! Already working on swatching everything and making looks with it, but I think all the products deserve their own blogpost :).
For now, here are some more (and better) pictures of the event by Saskia Bagchus for NYX Netherlands!
Me and Yasmin being in heaven, haha!
