Because of the exciting launch last Thursday, I’m treating you guys on an extra blogpost today! Benefit Cosmetics had been hyping their newest launch up. No one knew what it was going to be, only that it was ‘Out of This World’ themed (space). I followed along a bunch of Youtubers like NikkieTutorials, James Charles en Nicol Concilio through Instagram stories while they were on the most epic PR trip to Amangiri with Benefit (life goals over there: going on a trip like that with Benefit Cosmetics. Not only for the trip but also for the epic merch they get there: pink Benefit sweaters, Benefit towels etc!).
At the same time the product was revealed to the Youtube influencers over there in Amangiri, the product launched all over the world where Benefit is sold. I was mostly excited about that because usually something would launch in the USA and then it takes a while before us Dutchies can get our hands on it. I like where this is going Benefit: launching products all over the world at the same time.
Anyway, the epic launch was the BADgal BANG! volumizing mascara with some really cool new ingredients making it an innovative mascara. Science and cosmetics together: I’m already a fan!
The Benefit BADgal BANG! mascara is innovative because it contains aero-particles which is one of the lightest know materials derived from space technology. It is supposed to make the mascara really light weight and perfect to layer your mascara for more volume and thicker lashes without making your lashes feel sticky and heavy.
I ordered the mini directly online to try it out first, because I wanted to make sure it works for me. In some of the promotional pictures I saw that the lashes were beautifully long and thick, but it looked like some of the lashes stuck together, making it a thick lash but taking away the ‘fan’ effect (it probably makes more sense in Dutch to say that haha, but I’m getting at the effect a mascara can give that all of your lashes get long and black individually so you can see that you have a lot of lashes and not a few ‘thick’ lashes made out of several individual lashes, if that makes any sense, haha).
The brush is flexibel and has a lot of bristles so you can reach every lash from the lashline to the end. I find that the flexibility makes it really easy to apply the mascara on the whole lash. Usually I have trouble to reach the beginning of the lash on the lashline because the bristles are long and will touch my lid and then it smudges everywhere. But because these bristles are quite short, that doesn’t happen!
So applying the mascara was really easy (I did have to wiggle my brush a bit to prevent my lashes from sticking together with happened only a tiny bit when I applied a third layer of the mascara).
You guys, I am so impressed by the volume this mascara gives my lashes! You can see in the pictures above how my lashes went from not visible to really long, curled and beautiful. Just like promised, the mascara doesn’t make my lashes heavy or sticky. With an other mascara I would have applied a lot of layers to get this effect, what would’ve made my lashes heavy and gross. The BADgal BANG! mascara however, almost doesn’t add any weight.
This mascara makes my lashes curly and long, making it ‘open’ my eyes. I love it! It gives my lower lashes so much volume that it is almost too much for my preferences, haha! (I usually don’t wear mascara on my lower lashes because I want to focus on my top lashes).
I honestly can’t get over how long and beautiful it makes my lashes! To quote my brother: it looks like the lashes of a giraffe, haha!
So far, my mascara didn’t smudge or flake. I didn’t do anything crazy though today so I have to do some more testing to know for sure that this mascara stays put and beautiful for the whole day. But for now, I know that I love love love how it makes my lashes look! If it stays beautiful for the whole day, I will add this mascara to my top 3 favorites!
Did you already check the Benefit BADgal BANG! mascara out?
