You know a highlighting palette is great when it goes from new to top 5 powder highlighters in under a month! I’m talking about the NYX Born To Glow! highlighting palette that I received last month at the NYX Swatch Party.
I am really happy with all the goodies but for me, the highlighting palette is the winner of it all!
The palette has six beautiful and versatile highlighting colors. This way there is something for both fair and deep skintones. The bronze colors don’t go wasted for me with my fair skin though: they are beautiful as a bronzer, bronzer topper or as an eyeshadow!
Look at how beautiful these shades are! In the pan they feel a bit powdery and chunky but when swatches and used on the face, they are so creamy! They blend out and blend really nicely and show a lot of pigment.
When I used one of the bronze colors as eyeshadow, I was happily surprised by the intensity of the color. It was after applying with a flat brush, just as intense as on the swatch, which is really nice and does not always happen with make-up. Usually the color loses a bit of intensity.
The same goes for the four lightest colors that I use as highlighters (well, the pink one mostly as a blush topper). The pigment is easy to blend so you won’t see a stripe of color on you cheekbones. The glow is a-ma-zing! It has a beautiful wet glow but with soft edges. It’s really, really pretty!
Here I am wearing the second lightest shade (the light gold) on my cheek bones, just above my brows and on the tip of my nose.
Can you see that epic glow!? In real life it’s this glow x 100 because I’m making pictures with just the selfie cam of an iPhone 6, but anyway it’s so beautiful! It’s really bright, wet looking and at the same time soft and kind of natural (not really though haha but it melts into the skin making it look like it’s supposed to be there).
On my eyes I am wearing theNYX Love You So Mochi ‘Sleek and Chic’ eyeshadow palette. In my original review I had some struggles with applying and blending the shadows, but the more I practice, the more I am starting to love the palette!
Mascara is Too Faced Better Than Sex, brows is Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder in ‘1’ and lips is Kylie Cosmetics ‘High Maintenance’ matte liquid lipstick topped with Kylie Cosmetics ‘Damn Gina’ Gloss.
Yes yes yes, I love this NYX Born To Glow! highlighting palette! I totally recommend you to try it out if you are looking for something like this! It’s not the cheapest drugstore product ever ($25) , but it’s also not even close to the Natasha Denona palette, haha! NYX also came out with single Born To Glow! highlighters ($10). I haven’t tried them though but I can only imagine that they are as nice at the shades in this palette!
What color of this palette would you use the most?
I would definitely be using all the colours but the two super dark ones. But that being said they would make beautiful shadow shades if they pack that much pigmentation! This just goes to show you really can find some kick ass stuff at the drugstore, I haven’t seen this around yet so I’ll have to keep an eye out 🙂

[…] In conclusion: it’s a gorgeous highlighter palette with shades that wear well and give a pretty glow. However, because of how it emphasizes my pores, I think there are better highlighters out there, also for less money. The three shades remind me of the NYX Born To Glow highlighting palette (review here). […]
