Not too long ago, the metallic lip was a trend and a lot of brands contributed to that trend at high speed. In the meantime, the metallic lip isn’t a trend anymore but almost mainstream I guess. Luckily, brands are still launching additions to the metallic lip family and I’m not mad about it!

A lot of us already knows the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. It’s a well loved, not too expensive and comfortable take on the matte liquid lipstick. Just like the name tells us, it’s a soft matte (instead of drying matte) lip cream (instead of liquid lipstick). It’s way more comfortable on the lips without loosing any intensity or pigmentation.

I am a fan of those lippies and I was happy to see that NYX came out with a metallic edition of the Soft Matte Lip Cream!

At the NYX Swatch Party I choose two to try out!

The colors I choose are ‘Madrid’ (dark purple/brown/burgundy) and ‘Paris’ (bright pink).

The packaging and applicator is the same as the original Soft Matte Lip Creams.

I am blown away by the pigmentation and intensity of these colors! With some metallic lipsticks I experience a bit of streakiness, but not at all with these! The coverage is amazing and it applies really nicely.

In the left picture I am wearing ‘Paris’ with a lip liner underneath and that’s where you can see how amazingly pigmented and intense these lippies are! I love love love this! I always liked to try metallic lippies out but I never really liked to wear them in a daily look. With these though, that’s totally different and I’ve already wore them a few times!

In the right picture, I was wearing ‘Madrid’ for a little bit already so it was fading on the inside already. These lippies are not the longest wearing lippies ever but that’s mostly because they are so creamy. They don’t transfer though when applied and dried down, so that’s an big pro!

This metallic kind of the Soft Matte Lip Cream is less creamy though than the original so they stay put longer and they do feel the tiniest bit more drying. Nothing compared to a Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lip though, but it’s important to mention it, haha!

When I find myself in the NYX store again, I am totally going to pick some other colors up as well.
