With Valentines Day, Lime Crime had a really nice promotion: free (international) shipping and a free Cupid Velvetine! The nice thing about Lime Crime is that they pay all the custom fees for you, so you will not have to pay extra above a certain value of the stuff you bought.

I saw that the Holiday Sets with mini Diamond Crushers were also on sale and I’ve been wanting to try them, so this was the perfect occasion to get my hands on them!

I went for all the three mini sets of Diamond Crushers. Each set contains three cute mini Diamond Crushers and come in an adorable cracker. The sets are called: Golds, Glinda and Unicorn.

The Golds set includes (top to bottom): Dope, Lit and Cleopatra.

The Glinda set includes: Choke, Pink Pearl and Acid Fairy.

The Unicorn set includes: Unicorn Queen, Unicorn and Black Unicorn.

Here are the swatches from left to right: Pink Pearl, Choke & Acid Fairy (Glinda), Dope, Lit & Cleopatra (Golds), Unicorn, Unicorn Queen & Black Unicorn (Unicorn).

You can see on the swatches that the Diamond Crushers really differ from each other in formula and quality. Acid Fairy, Dope, Lit and Unicorn Queen are more even in color and shine when applied. The other shades are not that even, making it also less pretty on the eyes (or lips, depending where you apply it).

So these Diamond Crushers are meant to be lip toppers and I do see them being beautiful on the lips. They all have pretty glittery glows and the density/formula doesn’t matter that much when you apply it over a darker full coverage lipstick. Some are just not that pretty when worn alone.

Some of the lip toppers have a pretty strong candy scent to them so you have to keep that in mind, depending on your preference for scents on your lips. For lipstick I don’t really mind a scent but the same as with the formula: the intensity of the scent differs between the different shades. Some have a nice candy scent but some have really strong scent, smelling more chemical than like candy. Those I will never put on my lips.

I actually bought these Diamond Crushers as eyeshadow toppers to get that beautiful bright glow on the eyelids. The shades I mentioned with a good even formula are really nice on the eyes but the ones I didn’t mention for that are not the best. Because they don’t apply even, it’s hard to get a nice equally divided glitter and color on the eye.

Here I am wearing the Lime Crime Diamond Crusher in ‘Lit’ on my eyelids and the Lime Crime Velvetine in ‘Cupid’ on my lips.

I really like how Lit performed on my eyes, giving the exact glowy, glittery and bright effect that I was looking for. Unfortunately like I said, not all the Diamond Crushers deliver an even glow.

My opinion summarized on the Diamond Crushers is that some are really nice in quality but from these nine shades, there are only four nice ones that I would use again. It’s okay because I bought these ones on sale and in cute mini size, but I would not buy a full size Diamond Crusher unless I know 100% for sure that a certain color has a good formula. Otherwise it would be a waste of money for me. It’s such a shame that the quality of these Lime Crime Diamond Crushers is not consistent because Lime Crime as a brand is really fun and their customer service is awesome!
