I truly love testing new makeup and recently I’ve been getting more into skincare. The skincare brand La Mer felt like the brand I would never get to trying because it’s so expensive and even though I would have the skincare budget someday, I don’t think I will find it worth it to actually spend so much money on skincare. Ofcourse, if something works and there is no alternative, that would justify it for me. But currently I already know a lot of skincare products by less expensive brands that work really well for me, so no need for me to splurge on La Mer anytime soon!

I wouldn’t be me though if I wasn’t dying to try La Mer out at some point, just for the lolz. When I was in the USA I got a trying sized La Mer face cream in the Sephora Play luxury edition box so I was pretty excited about that! Not long after I got a even smaller trial sized La Mer eye cream with a Sephora order so I was sorted, haha!

A couple of weeks ago I entered a competition of Linda. (a Dutch magazine) and Bijenkorf (a Dutch department store like Nordstrom) by sharing my ‘beauty secret’. I won one of the goodie bags (worth over €350!) and it was one of the most epic and generous goodie bags I’ve ever got! Made me think of the goodie bag that famous people get at the Oscars, haha.

These are all the products this amazing goodie bag contained! So cool!

It came with three perfumes: one full sized (Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme Eau de Parfum), one miniature (Tiffany & Co. Signature Eau de Parfum) and one rollerball (Jusbox Perfumes Feather Surpreme Eau de Parfum).

I do have to say that I am not a fan of the kind of scents. They are pretty spicy and intense, something that I usually don’t look for in a perfume. However, I do think that these are lovely scents that other people will love, so I will give these to friends!

The goodie bag also contained a miniature and a full sized (!!!) La Mer Crême de La Mer moisturizing cream! Amazing, considering how freaking expensive this cream is! I still have to form my opinion on this and see what my skin does after using it for a little while. I will get back to you on that.

I’ve tried the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil once before in a bright pink color. I like the product but I never really wear it because that pink color is way to pink for my preference. The color that came with the goodie bag is ‘Dragon Girl’ and I’ve been loving this color! It’s bright and happy but at the same time fierce and wearable. Love it!

The Lip Pencil is really easy to apply and it has so much pigment that the color really covers well. The product is not stain proof but because of the crazy amount of pigment, it does stay on a really long time. When some of the product wears of during eating or drinking, there’s still enough pigment left to some the bright color on the lips.

I do find this Lip Pencil a little bit drying for my lips but since it’s a product that stays on a long time and it doesn’t glide around to much, I can live with slightly dry lips :).

The next product I was really excited about to try is the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows brush & gel. I love love love the packaging, it screams luxury to me.

The product itself is nice and really locks my brows into place but I have to say that it’s just a simple clear brow gel with a really precise brush. Nothing new or special if you ask me, so a drugstore alternative is just as good to me.

The last product in the goodie bag is the Clinique High Impact Lash Elevating Mascara. I’ve used this mascara in the past and I already knew that I like it. It might not beat my love for the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara but it does make my lashes pretty beautiful.

It does not make my lashes clumpy/spider legs and it does give my lashes a nice fanned and voluminous look.

I am wearing the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows products (without any brow color added, just the gel. It really sets my brows into place and the brush makes it possible to make my brows look more full, but like I said, nothing extremely special), the Clinique mascara and the NARS lip pencil.
