I always love a intense shimmery and foiled eyeshadow. I never ever wear a matte shadow on my eyelid because I love how a glittery or metallic eyeshadow makes my eyes more bright. Lately I’ve been trying out some liquid eyeshadows (Stila & Limecrime, Colourpop coming up) that have a glittery or metallic finish to make my eyes pop even more!
Recently I picked up the Catrice Liquid Metal Longlasting Cream Eyeshadows but at first I didn’t give them much attention until I saw Tati (Glamguru on YT) raving about it so I decided to give them a good test.
The packaging is sleek and simple: nothing to special but I like the simplicity of it! The packaging is pretty long and thin which reminds me of a liquid lipstick.
It contains 6 ml of product.
The liquid eyeshadow is really really pigmented and intense. The coverage is also great. As you can see on the second picture: it catches the light beautifully, giving it an intense metallic/foiled finish. The swatch is really promising!
I did struggle with applying it on my eyes though, because the good coverage is because of the thick consistency of the liquid eyeshadow. It feels pretty heavy on my eyes when the product is applied directly (either with the applicator in the tube or with a brush) and it picks up the product on my eyes that’s already applied. I still like the intense and bright shine it gives my eyelook, but I don’t like how the consistency feels at first. Also, the applied shadow looks weird on the eyes when it dries down, because of how thick it is and because of how impossible it is to blend in the complete eye look. You can really see that there’s a thick layer.
I’ve now figured out that it works way better and wears more comfortable when I apply a thin layer of the product with my finger. That way I can regulate how much product I apply. I still have to watch out that I don’t pick up product that’s already applied on my eyes when I want to add a little more, but I do really like how the product looks in my eye look this way! It always wears comfortable and stays put for a pretty long time!
First, I applied a powder eyeshadow in my crease to give my eye some definition. On the left eye (left for the viewers) I applied the pink liquid eyeshadow (030 Daily Dose of Rose) and on the right eye I applied the gold (020 Champagne Shower). It gives a beautiful metallic glow. Me gusta!
The best thing is that a little goes a long way for this product and if you apply it with your finger (you apply way less product). And the best news: it retails for only €3,99!
