Dior Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder Highlighter in 002

There’s drugstore, there’s high end and then there’s straight up (way to expensive) luxurious make-up. I enjoy all the categories because I love to find gems with both drugstore and high end prices  (mostly drugstore though) but I also love to splurge once in a while on something luxurious.

It is really important for me though that a luxurious item, on which I will spend a lot of money, is of good quality and something I will use often. I always do research on a product that I’m about to purchase but for luxurious items I will triple check that it’s going to be worth it.

About a year ago I totally got into Dior makeup and all the products I have from them I still really enjoy and use a lot. One of those products is the Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder Highlighter in 002.

The highlighter comes with a dustbag (very fancy for a highlighter 🙂 ) and a little kabuki brush. I don’t use the brush because I prefer my ‘basic’ highlighter brushes, but it is actually not a bad brush.

The compact is sturdy, reflecting and so so so fancy. It closes magnetically and has a mirror inside.

This Dior one is the second most expensive highlighter I own but the most expensive one by Chanel actually looks less luxurious in my opinion. The packaging of the Chanel highlighter is more plastic-y while this Dior packaging screams fancy and luxury to me.

The inside of the compact is also really pretty. The highlighter has Nude Air imprinted on it. The highlighter is a soft powder that is not specifically creamy but it’s also not hard or dry at all. It’s a very nice formula that grabs to the skin and to the brush well without any fallout or kickback in the pan whatsoever.

The shade is described as ‘Pink Glow, a subtle rose tone’ and to me that’s a little to easy. It is a very light and bright pinky toned highlighter but on the face it looks like a beige highlighter with an intense pink/purple glow.

The pictures of the swatches don’t do the beauty of it justice, not even close.

This picture bij The Beauty Lookbook (one of my favorite beautyblogs) shows it best (4th swatch from the left).

Anyway, the highlighter is gorgeous. The glow it gives is so intense and bright and I love that on my fair skin (I bet it looks good on everyone though). It does not have a grey shift that some light highlighters have so that’s great as well.
The highlight also stays on for pretty long and the glow stays present.

I’m wearing the highlighter on my cheekbones (obviously, haha), tip of my nose, on the bridge of my nose and in the inner corners of my eyes.
On my lips I’m wearing the Dior Lip Tattoo in Natural Rosewood, a lovely product as well.

If you are looking to splurge on a luxury highlighter that’s even more expensive than the Becca highlighters, then I would recommend the Dior Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer over any Chanel highlighter or any other crazy expensive one.

I might buy another shade in the future but for the money of one Dior highlighter (€58,04) I can buy soooo many drugstore highlighters or one Becca highlighter and having €20 left, so I am not planning on it any time soon. I am happy with this one Dior highlighter for now!

What is your most expensive highlighter?
