Primark is on fire with their make-up collections lately and the PS Bronze collection proves that again! It’s not just ‘okay for the price’ anymore, it’s actual good quality.
From the collection I picked up the PS Bronze Shade & Shimmer eye shadow palette, the PS Bronze Loose Highlighter in Vacation and the PS Bronze Instant Radiance highlighting drops.
The packaging of the highlighting drops and the loose highlighter are both pretty luxurious: both are made of glass (or strong plastic)
I was excited to see the color selection of this palette. Really summery, bronze and colorful. There are a lot of looks you can make from this palette.
The down side of this palette is that it smells pretty gross… they claim the palette is coconut scented and I’m sure they tried to achieve that, but mixed with the chemical smell it’s pretty gross haha.
Luckily, the quality of the shades makes up for the smell! Look at this! I mean, not every shade was this pigmented with just one swipe, but building a shade up for color payoff is normal for a lot of brands.
Most shades do have quite a lot of kick back in the pan and fall out when applying, but that’s also not a disaster for me. I just love how pigmented they are. You can see that some shades tend to be a bit patchy though, but for this money that’s something I do not mind to work with at all. I mean, this color pay-off for just €6,-!
These are two looks that I created with the palette. The look on the left with a bit of pink and the one on the right mostly with the browns and a hint of orange.
The shades are easy to build up and blend pretty well. Some do need some extra patience for building up and blending, but nothing too extreme.
I truly believe that this palette is amazing!
Next up is the Loose Highlighter for just €3. It a pretty highlighter and you get a lot of product, but it does fade away rather quickly and the highlighter itself is pretty glittery. I also wish they added a shifter (or how do you call that) because every time I take of the lid, the powder goes everywhere.
The powder is dusty and I think that’s why it fades so fast on the skin, it probably doesn’t really ‘stick’.
On the swatch you can see how beautiful the color is. It’s a gold highlight with a subtle peachy/nude shift. You can also see well how glittery this highlighter is. Keep that in mind if you don’t like glittery highlighters.
The product that I actually recommended to friends because I love it so much is this PS Bronze Instant Radiance Highlighting Drops in Paradise. It retails for only €3,50. Unfortunately this was the lightest shade and it tends to be too dark for my fair skin when not blended extremely well, but I’m sure it will be a perfect fit when I’m more tanned.
So this guy has a little dropper inside to get you the right amount of product (well to be fair the dropper doesn’t work but you can pick up product from there easily).
I expected this liquid highlight to be too oily but it’s actually not even close. You do feel that it’s liquid and that there’s oil in it, but that mostly feels hydrating and after blending, there’s no exces oil left on the skin. Other liquid highlighters I tried do leave some exces oil on my skin (I have oily skin on the cheekbones and temples).
I love the glow that this gives! It catches the light beautifully and reflects it well. The right swatch is the liquid highlight and the left swatch is the loose highlighter.
How amazing is this highlighter! It gives an amazing wet glow and because of the little bronziness, it’s perfect for summer. It wears well and stays put during the day.
If you want to pick up anything from the PS Bronze Collection, definitely go for the liquid highlighter and try out the eyeshadow palette.
