The day before my birthday I went out for dinner with two of my closest friends and we had such a lovely evening! On top of that, they also surprised me with the most amazing gifts! Being the true supporters of me and my blog, they gifted me (among other lovely presents) five shades of the Airy Ink Velvets by Peripera, a Korean brand. They specifically choose this product because they know I never tried the brand before. Little shoutout to Jamie and Jenny here, you girls are the best! ❤
We all know and love lip tints (also started with Korean beauty) but a velvety lip lacquer that also doubles as a tint, was new to me and I’m was so excited to try it out!
I got the Airy Ink Velvet in five shades:
#1 Heart Grapefruit
#2 Pretty Orange Pink
#3 Sold Out Red
#4 Beautiful Coral Pink
#5 Elf Light Rose
The packagings looks like it has a dropper, but the lid has a ‘regular’ applicator with doe foot applicator that’s in a bit of an angle, making it easier to apply the product.
So the product feels like a mousse and is very slippery when first applied. The name ‘airy’ really applies because it feels so light and comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation of all the shades is incredible, so I have to be careful when applying it to it to my lips.
All of the five shades are bright but still all a bit different. I like 4 and 5 (last two on the right) the most for their color (a tiny bit more toned down) but when we look at the stain afterwards, I like the brightest colors the most.
After just a minute of having the product on my arm for the swatches, they were already staining and that’s amazing! Promises a lot of beautiful staining when applied on the lips.
The product itself is not long wearing (as it’s probably not supposed to be) because of how creamy/airy the product is. It dries down a little bit but it will always stay ‘wet’ and slippery. It makes the drying down/staining really comfortable, because it’s not like a matte liquid lipstick that takes away all the moisture of your lips. This product feels likes it’s adding moisture to it!
On the left I’m wearing #1 Heart Grapefruit the Korean way, like a gradient (dark color in the middle and on outer part of the lips no color or a lighter color. The lighter color actually comes from the staining of the product itself!
On the right I’m wearing #2 Pretty Orange Pink and it is a beautiful summery/pinkish red.
On the left I’m wearing #3 Sold Out Red and on the right I’m wearing #4 Beautiful Coral Pink.
As you can see, the shades 1, 2 and 3 are quite similar, but yet they are all a bit different. I think that’s perfect for Korean beauty because in Korean beauty you mostly see reds and bright pinks, so this way was there’s something for everyone. Also, 13 and #4 do look kind of similar but I would wear them with a completely different eye look and with different colors.
I now have a red for every occasion!
On the left I’m wearing #5 Elf Light Rose and on the right I have nothing but the stain (after #1 and #2) on my lips.
I love love love how the stain looks! It’s basically a better version of my lip color, making my lips look more healthy and full. And the best thing is: it does not transfer to anywhere, it’s not drying because there’s no product on the lips anymore and it’s doesn’t fade that fast.
The stain does fade during the day but not as fast as a regular lipstick. Also, it fades gradually, making it perfect to wear during dinner or a party with drinks. No touch ups necessary!
I’m so happy I got to try these Airy Ink Velvets and I will definitely be using them more. Also, I am curious now to try more of the brand. You will read more about Peripera on Weeks of Beauty in the future!
