Empties 2018

Writing an empties post has been on my wishlist for so long, but I always forgot to save up my empties and I also don’t finish lot’s of interesting products (since I’m always trying out new products).

At the beginning of this year I decided to save up my empties anyway to just see how that would go and even though I still ended up throwing away empty products because I forgot, a couple of months later, I have a cute little collection of empties to go through!

This is the collection of empties. Like I said, I did threw away some products that should’ve been featured in this pictures and I also didn’t save empty packaging of shampoos, showergels, make-up wipes, cotton pads and that kind of stuff.

Let see what we’ve got here, if I liked it and whether I repurchased the product or not!

First up we have fragrances and dry shampoos.

This bottle of Daisy by Marc Jacobs is actually the 6th bottle of the fragrance that I finished! I’ve loved this perfume for a little now and I did repurchase it, because it’s a staple in my fragrance collection. However, it’s not my everyday scent anymore like it was before. I prefer Daisy Love now, the newest addition to the Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance collection.

The other fragrance is the Ritual of Karma Bed & Body Mist by Rituals. I bought this one when the collection first came out and I loved the smell so much. When I discovered that the collection was canceled, I saved the last sprays of the body mist because I was in love with it! It’s such an amazing fresh summer scent! Recently they brought the collection back as permanent so I went ahead and finished this bottle. I already repurchased the Body Mist.

The Schwarzkopf got2b and Batiste products are both dry shampoos. I love me some dry shampoo because my hair get’s way to damages when I wash it too often. Also, my hair get’s oily so fast when I wash it too often so I use a dry shampoo every so often. I used up a couple more bottles of dry shampoo but I threw them out.
I did not like the Schwarskopf got2b dry shampoos so I won’t be repurchasing them. It didn’t get rid of the oil in my hair the way I need it to and it also left to much white product in my hair. I like the dry shampoo of Batist and COlab the most.

Two ride or die products for me are Lush Silky Underwear and Lush Lemony Flutter. I will forever be repurchasing these products. When in the USA I ran out of my Silky Underwear so one of those bottles is the Dutch edition and the other one is the USA edition. Silky Underwear is a products that’s just nice to have for after a shower, but Lemony Flutter is the real life saver for me. It helps with dry patches on my elbows, helps keep my feet soft and my hands including cuticles non irritated! Needles to say is that I already have a new Silky Underwear and a new Lemony Flutter in use.

My favorite hand cream at the moment are the ones from the Body Shop. The Satsuma smell is my absolute favorite but they canceled that scent for hand creams (sad face). The hand creams are very lightweight, sink into the skin fast, are not oily and they moisturizer my hands very well. Also… the smell is great! Currently I’m using the Pink Grapefruit one. It’s nice but a bit too strong for my preferences actually. Next time I’ll be going for the mango one again.

The last product in this picture is the Nivea Waterproof Make-up Remover (oil based situation). I have not yet found a make-up remover that works better for waterproof mascara than this one, so whenever this one is in a promo (1+1 usually), I stock up on it. I used up a couple of bottles of this the last couple of months, but I forgot to save them!

I’ve mentioned on the blog a couple of times already that I’ve been getting into skincare more and more recently. I’ve been trying out lot’s of products in the search for the perfect moisturizer and eye cream.

The tiny La Mer jar is an eye cream that I got as a freebie at Sephora back in the USA. It’s a nice products that hydrates the under eyes well, but it’s not the perfect eye cream that helps me get rid of puffiness and dark circles. That search continues!

Of the moisturizer I’ve tried out so far I loved the Belif the true cream and Tatcha Water Cream (the blue jar) the most. Both are quite similar: lightweight, sink into the skin fast, leave the skin moisturized and healthy glowing. I recently purchased a full size of the Belif the true cream but I first have lot’s of other trial sized creams to try out first.

The two make-up product I use the most are setting spray and mascara. The difference is that I love lot’s of different mascara’s but for setting sprays, there’s only two that I will keep repurchasing. Those two are the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray (already using a new bottle) for setting my make-up and Mac Fix+ for wetting my brushes and Beauty Blender.

I also enjoyed the Smashbox Primer Water but that one actually gave me the idea that it’s just fragranced water, so I won’t be repurchasing that one. The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea face spray didn’t do it for me. It made my skin too sticky afterwards. It does smell great though!

For primers I’ve used up the travel sized tubes of Benefit’s Porefessional and Porefessional Pearl. I already had a full size tube of the latter waiting to be used, so I didn’t have to repurchase them. These two are my favorite primers at the moment and I use them a lot.

The two powders pictured are the Mac Pro Longwear Pressed Powder that used to be my favorite everyday powder and a mini Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I haven’t repurchased the Mac powder because I’ve been liking loose powders way more. I do have a new Laura Mercier powder, that came in a Sephora Favorites set.

The best concealer I’ve used recently is the Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer (pictured is shade 02). The bottle looks full but I can’t get any product out of it anymore, so I’ve repurchased in shade 03, which is a better match to my skin tone and again shade 02, for under eye highlighting on days I really need it, haha.

I love switching mascara’s around because there are so many great mascara’s out there. I’ve also used up a Too Faced Better Than Sex but apparently I threw it out. I love L’Oreal Paradise Extatic as a Better Than Sex dupe. Maybelline Lash Sensational is one of my favorite waterproof mascara’s.

I discovered the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara in a Sephora Play! Box and it’s amazing! It’s my newest favorite mascara but quite expensive, so I just recently purchased a new travel sized one.

That’s it for all my empties from the last couple of months! What products did you use up recently? Did you like it and repurchased it?
