Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb in How Many Carats?!

Fenty Beauty recently turned 1 (when they launched their first products I was actually in the USA and after school I went straight to Sephora to check it out 🙂 ) and celebrated that by launching a new shade of the Gloss Bomb and the Diamond Bomb highlighter in How Many Carats?!. I heard so many good things about the highlighter that I had to try it out, so here’s my review!

Even the box the product comes in is gorgeous with all the glitter and shine. The highlighter is not described as a highlighter (it does come in the same packaging as the killawatt highlighters) but as a Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil.

The Diamond Bomb has the most gorgeous compact: shiny with lots and lots of white and silver glitters. It’s a real eye catcher for in the make-up collection.

When I opened the compact I started to realize that the Diamond Bomb is different from a highlighter. It’s a gorgeous product but instead of a pigmented highlighter, I see mostly glitters.

The product is very very creamy, it almost feels liquid when you touch and swatch it. I totally get why they call it a veil: the product is so light weight and creamy that you don’t feel that there’s any product on your face.

With the right lighting the swatch looks like a gorgeous reflecting highlighter with a strong, sparkly glitter.

There was one thing that got me to not like this product as much as I expected myself to. When the product catches the light in the right way it’s gorgeous, reflecting and wet looking. But when there’s not much light on the product, there’s no visible pigmentation or color and the only thing you see is glitter, glitter and glitter.

I like a bit of sparkle/glitter in my highlighters to make it more intens, but this product really is all about the glitter and that is not my personal favorite. It’s definitely something that I missed when purchasing the product :).

You hardly see any product on my cheekbones. The glow on the apple of my cheek is mostly from the radiant blush I was testing out as well. The white dots on my black shirt are actually the glitters from the Diamond Bomb.

To wrap this review up: it is a gorgeous, glittery product and I think it’s great if you like lot’s of glitter on your face or body. The formula is to me innovative because of how light weight and creamy it is and you don’t feel the glitters or the product itself.
However, I you are looking for ‘just’ a great highlighter, then this product is not for you. If you want the product to be as blinding as the first swatch I showed, you have to pile up a lot of the product and you will have a face soaked in glitter. Also, the glitter goes everywhere; I experienced a lot of fall out.

Next time I’ll just stick with the regular Killawatt highlighter from Fenty Beauty!

Did you already try the Diamond Bomb? How did you like it?
