Sephora Play! Smarts: Skincare By Age

It’s no secret that I love mini’s and I love to try out new products. In comes the Sephora Play! subscription box, which you can’t receive internationally :(. Luckily, Sephora also comes out occasionally with a Sephora Play! Smarts or Luxe box, an edition of the box that you can buy separately. But then Sephora decided to not ship their products to the Netherlands anymore (whyyyyyy are you doing this to us Sephora)…

Fortunately, the beauty community introduced me to a lady who lives in the USA and is a beauty lover just like me, so she is willing to order stuff from Sephora and sent it overseas!

This time I bought two editions of the Sephora Play! Smarts: Skincare by Age box. The 30’s edition and the 40’s edition. This box is all about skincare that’s targeting concerns people usually experience around that certain age. However, when I did some research on the products that were featured in the boxes, I saw that lot’s of the products are practical for every age basically. They did not bring out a box for the 20’s (which I am in) so I grabbed the other two. Concerns that are targeted are e.g. dullness and visible pores.

The products come in the usual red Play! box and in a make-up bag. Play! boxes always contains some kind of make-up bag. This time it’s an luxe and practical hard case with zipper. It’s great for travel and preventing your make-up to be crushed while on the move.

Sephora Play! Smarts Skincare By Age: 30’s contains six trial size skincare products.

  • Tatcha The Deep Cleanse;
  • Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate;
  • Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40;
  • Kiehl’s Since 1851 Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash;
  • Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peels;
  • Tarte Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer Rainforest of the Sea.

Such an amazing selection of brands and products!

I’ve been hearing lot’s of good things about Kiehl’s and I’ve been wanting to try some Kiehl’s products so I’m very happy with the foaming face wash. Every Tatcha products always get’s me excited because it’s such a good brand. I actually already have this cleanser in the same size (it was featured in a Sephora Favorites set) and I’m enjoying it, so it’s nice to have a back-up. I also have been wanting to try out products from Fresh because I feel like the brand is winning a lot of popularity because apparently their products are great, so this product is a win for me as well.

I am most excited about the Supergoop Sunscreen in this box because sunscreen is such an important step in your skincare which I tend to forget. My favorite blog The Beauty Look Book loves Supergoop so it can’t go wrong right!?

The Dr. Dennis Gross peel is completely new to me: brand and product. I am curious to try it out though, because it looks like a unique product.
The Tarte Moisturizer is something that never really caught my attention but of course I will get back to your if it turns out to be amazing :).

This Play! Box is a winner as well with these products:

  • Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment;
  • Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream;
  • Kiehl’s since 1851 Glow Formula Skin Hydrator;
  • Volition Beauty Detox Silt Gelee Mask;
  • Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil;
  • Tatcha The Water Cream.

The two Sunday Riley products are very popular and highlighted a lot on Cult Beauty, the online store I trust when it comes to skincare reviews. Therefore I am very excited to try the Good Genes treatment and the Sleeping Night Oil. I do have to do some research first before using the products though because there are some strong ingredients in it that need to be used the right way.

In this box also comes a Kiehl’s product: the Glow Formula Skin Hydrator which I’ve been seeing on blogs a lot as well lately. You don’t have to be 40 for wanting a glowy skin, right?!

I think I will give the Caudalie Eye Cream to my mom because it’s made for targeting fine lines and wrinkles and that’s something I don’t have to deal with yet :).

The Volition Silt Gelee Mask is a completely new brand and product for me but it sounds promising so I can’t wait to try it out.

The last product in this box is The Water Cream by Tatcha in a tiny jar. I love the cream (read about it in my empties from two months ago) but I think it’s too expensive, so I’d rather purchase a similar cream like the Belif The True Cream. I am very happy with this tiny jar of The Water Cream though.

So many exciting new products to try out! I will keep you posted on my favorites and on the not so good products (if there are any, of course).

Which products of this selection would you love to try?
