Welcome to Blogmas Day 10! This year, Too Faced is the winner for cutest Holiday collection if it was up to me. They always make a great Holiday collection with lot’s of different sets and theme’s, but this year the Gingerbread Spice collection really stood out to me. I got my hands on the Gingerbread Spice eyeshadow palette and I’ve been loving to use the palette. At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted the cute liquid lipstick set as well but after seeing people’s positive reviews, I decided to get my hands on it anyway. Happy I did because it was and is very hard to get. This set sells out everywhere!
The Too Faced The Sweet Smell of Christmas liquified lipstick set contains four mini Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks in four shades created just for this set.
The shades are all inspired by Christmas treats: pumpkin spice, sugar cookies, cinnamon bears and hot buttered rum. Not only the selection is on point: the products actually smell like the product, the shades are on point and mostly: the design of the lipsticks are wonderful. The tube is like the regular Melted Matte lipstick but with a very cute design on top.
Swatched from left to right: Pumpkin Spice, Sugar Cookie, Cinnamon Bear and Hot Buttered Rum.
The formula of the product is smooth (Sugar Cookie a tiny bit less than the other three), pigmented well and it has great coverage.
Pumpkin Spice (above, on the left) is the shade that I love the most. It suits my skin tone well and is a good shade to use with basically every look. The lipstick smells like Chai Tea Latte and I’m not complaining about that! 🙂
Sugar Cookie (above, on the right) is a shade that does not flatter me much because I feel like it makes me look pale. It’s a muted version very close to my own lip color and it’s just not a match for me. I will be passing this one on to a friend who loves shades like this! Sugar Cookie smells like the name: like sugar cookies with lots and lots of vanilla.
Cinnamon Bear (above, on the left) is a bright red that’s perfect for the Holidays or basically any other festivity. It doesn’t go fantastic with the eye look I created (the Essence Holiday eyeshadow palette) but I do love the shade. I think it will suit me best with a subtle brown nude eye look. The lipstick smells like cinnamon (also not complaining about this).
Hot Buttered Rum (above, on the right) is a greyish brown shade that I think will suit everyone well. The scent of this lipstick is exactly the name: hot, buttered rum.
The lipsticks are very easy to apply because they have a small applicator and the formula is neither too liquid, nor too thick. The formula has great coverage with just one layer and dries down fast and smooth. Luckily, the lipsticks are not drying at all. It’s actually a comfortable liquid lipstick to wear.
When you apply the lipsticks, you don’t smell the scent anymore. That’s only when you actually go and smell the product.
The only shade that wasn’t perfect after the first swipe, was Sugar Cookie. The first layer was almost non visible and not as smooth as the other shades so I had to do a second layer. That made it all alright.
What is your favorite shade from this set? Have you ever tried a Too Faced Melted Matte?
