We all know that Primark can do dupes (or sometimes basically a copy) with their PS… beauty brand like no other. Recently I stopped by Primark to hunt for some make-up gems and I saw dupes for MAC, Huda Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and Stila. I picked up some of the products and today is the first dupe for Huda Beauty. Welcome to Blogmas Day 13!
These are the three little palettes I picked up: Nude Addiction, Amber Passion and Smoke Out.
Each palette is small and perfect for travel. They all consist of nine shades that are a mix of shimmers and mattes.
It’s not hard to see that they are inspired by the Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes. Especially the exterior design and the nine shades. They did change the layout of the shades inside.
The Nude Addiction palette is focussed on the shades a great choice for the person who likes their browns and golds. A palette like this is always a great staple in the collection because the shades work for every occasion and with every eye color and outfit.
When it comes to the quality of the shades it’s very mixed. The two gold shimmers Cashmere and Golden are great and the Latte matte shade is pretty good. The other shades mostly work but are not the best. Desert Sand hardly shows up, Moon Dust is, no pun intended, dusty and chunky.
The mattes were good to work with. They did need some building up but I was very pleased with how Brownie Points worked (the black shade) and how easily it blended with the other mattes. The shimmers however do not have much pigmentation when applied on the eyes and the shimmer fades very quickly.
For the price this not an awful palette, but Primark has done way better before so I do not recommend this Nude Addiction palette. For a couple of euro’s more you can get an Essence or Revolution palette with more shades and of way better quality.
The Smoke Out palette is a choice mainly for review purposed because greys and blacks are not the shades I like on my eyes. I was very curious to see how the quality is because apparently blacks and deep colors are pretty hard to make.
Besides Crystal, the shimmers are not very pigmented and intense. Nightingale is a gorgeous inner corner highlighting shade but it will need some Fix+ to pop.
I am surprised to see how pigmented the matte shades are though! Especially Midnight! They are pretty chunky and you will have to work hard to make them nice on the eyes. For the look in the picture I put in a lot of effort to blend out the crease shade but as you can see, it’s patchy. However, the pigmentation is there in the matte shades so it is possible to make a great look.
The shine of the shimmer shades fade fast just like the Nude Addiction palette and for me personally, a bright good working shimmer shade is very important in a look, so this palette is also one I wouldn’t recommend.
I saved the best for last: the Amber Passion palette. I love the shade selection of this little palette because of the pink, gold, brown and orange!
And the best part: the swatches are actually prettyyyyy good! Only the Edge shade lacks pigment and Sunrise has a funny consistency but other than that, the shades are great!
I love the look that I made with this palette! The mattes show pigment on the eyes and it doesn’t fade when blended. You can see clearly that here the shimmery shade on the eyelid is bright and pigmented as well.
If you want to pick up one of these little PS… palettes than I totally (and only) recommend the Amber Passion palette. Love it!
Which palette would you like the most of these three?
