Maybelline New York Super Stay Matte Ink – 15 Lover (Blogmas Day 19)

Welcome to Blogmas Day 19! So when I picked up the Maybelline Countdown palette, I also picked up a Super Stay Matte Ink lipstick because Kruidvat (drugstore in the Netherlands) had a 1+1 discount on Maybelline going on. I heard one of my favorite Youtubers, Allie Glines, rave about it so I wanted to give it a go myself.

The packaging is awesome: simple, sleek and colorful. You can see the shade of the lipstick by just looking at the packaging.

I picked up shade 15: Lover which is a lovely pink/mauve shade.

The applicator is meant to be picking up enough product for you to cover your lips in one go. It does pick up enough product. However, I do find that the combination of the formula and the applicator makes it hard to apply the product evenly.

Combined with the high pigmentation and color pay-off, you can see very clearly when the product isn’t applied very neatly.

From a distance the lipstick loops pretty with a lot of color and a subtle sheen.

From up close you can see that the application didn’t go very neatly, haha.

I really love the shade of this lipstick but unfortunately I do not like the formula at all. The lipstick is sticky upon application and it stays sticky on the lips. Even after letting the product dry for an hour, the product still felt sticky and that’s really not my preference.

The good thing about this lipstick is that despite the stickiness, the product was almost completely transfer proof!

If you are looking for a transfer proof and pigmented liquid lipstick then the Maybelline New York Super Stay Matte Ink might be something you enjoy, if you don’t mind a sticky feeling. For me personally, this is something I won’t be picking up in different shades!
