October 3rd 2018 was on a Wednesday… and for everyone who likes Mean Girls knows that’s an important day! 🙂 On Wednesdays we wear pink! On this date Colourpop launched an all pink eyeshadow palette (can’t be coincidence, right?) and because it’s so fun and special for my collection (and Colourpop also recently had free international shipping) I had to get my hands on it! Welcome to Blogmas Day 20!
The palette is all pink with shiny letters on the front and a big mirror inside. The packaging is different than I’m used from Colourpop because this palette is made of hard plastic and clicks shut, where their palettes usually are from cardboard and close with a magnet.
I love love love this shade selection! All the shades (besides Moon Struck) are pink or family of pink and yet, all the shades are different and unique. This is the definition of a palette that’s unique and a valuable addition to my eyeshadow palette collection.
Yessss Colourpop coming through! You can go safe with these shades if you would pick Soft Core and Poodle and use Moon Struck on the eye lid, or you can go all out pink with Big Sugar and Sandbar. You can mix it up and make it a little more purple or toned down, there are so many epic eye looks to make with this shade selection. Did I already say I love this shade selection?!
You can already tell by these swatches that the shadows are very creamy and pigmented to the extreme (especially Sandbar). This is the swatching quality of Colourpop that I’m used to with their pressed shadows. Let’s see if the shadows are just as nice when used on the eyes!
I went for all out pink! I used Soft Core in the crease (on the eyes it’s even more pink than in the pan), Trove in the outer corner of my eye and outer third of the crease, Big Sugar on the moving eye lid (applied with my finger for the best intensity) and I used Tickled in the inner corner and on my brow bone.
Love love love this look, love this palette and love the quality of these shadows! I kind of forgot how amazing Colourpop pressed shadows are and now I want to add more of their palettes to my collection, because why not!? 🙂
This eye look was a bit out of my comfort zone for ‘taking it’ outside while having lunch with my best friend and doing some (very) last minute Christmas shopping, but I loved this bold look so much so I decided to wear it proudly.
The shadows lasted very well. I used Tarte Shape Tape concealer set with some MAC Patrick Starrr setting powder as an eyeshadow base and the shadows stayed put during the whole day. They are still going strong as we speak and they only faded in color intensity the teeny-tiniest bit.
And to make it even better: the palette retails for only $12! You can find it here.
Gorgeous swatches!
