Welcome to Blogmas Day 30! I can’t believe I actually caught up with the December days, because I got far behind in some weeks this month. I also can’t believe that tomorrow is already NYE! I hope you all have great plans for tomorrow! I am actually working first tomorrow after having a week off, but I’m sure it’s going to be a fun day with the few colleagues that will be at the office like me.
I want to round up this Blogmas 2018 with two blogs about my favorite products of 2018. Today I’ll be talking about my favorites in the categories face, body, fragrance, hand, nail and hair!
These are most of the favorites in today’s categories! I did use a lot more products this year but these are the ones that stood out to me and made it into my absolute favorites.
For my birthday in June I got the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Love fragrance. I have been loving it so much that I’m almost out of it! Time to restock on that in the new year.
My second favorite fragrance is the Rituals Rituals of Karma Body Mist. The scent is probably the best thing I’ve ever smelled. It’s a carefree, happy, wonderful sunny day in a bottle to me. I also love the shower foam and body cream with this scent, but it has been the Body Mist that stands out to me the most. I’ll have to restock on this one soon as well!
For skincare I’ve got a couple favorite products. I have been trying out so many moisturizer and eye creams this year and for the moisturizers I’m pretty sure I narrowed it down to these favorites.
The Origins Ginzing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer is my favorite one for in the morning. You can read my review on the Origins Ginzing collection here. The moisturizer is so fresh and moisturizing and it gives my face the most healthy glow.
For the night I love the Belif The true cream – moisturizing bomb. It has a hint of citrus scent which I love, it moisturizes my skin well and it sinks into my skin quickly.
After taking a shower in the evening or after a long day of wearing lot’s of make up, I like to use the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. Compared to the other two moisturizers, it’s a thick consistency that nurtures the skin and also gives it a gorgeous glow that is still a bit visible the next morning. I would never be able to use this cream in the morning though because it takes a couple of hours before this cream completely sinks into my skin, but that’s perfect for the night!
When it comes to eye creams I still haven’t decided yet on which eye cream I love the most. So far my favorite is the Fresh Black Tea Firming and De-Puffing Eye Cream. It moisturizers well and also cools my under eyes. I’m not sure if it’s my perfect eye cream though, but hopefully we will see the eye cream of eye creams in my 2019 favorites next year. 🙂
For skincare I also got two products that aren’t moisturizers. It’s the Tatcha Pure One Step Camelia Cleansing Oil. This oil makes my skin so so so soft and it removes my face make up perfectly. When I use it I also like to give myself a little face massage while working it into my skin.
In 2018 the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion has been a life saver for me. It get’s rid of most pimples in just a couple of days and it prevents every pimple to become huge and eye catching. What an invention :).
I’m just now realizing how well my skin behaved the last couple of months! I think it’s because of the combination of well cleansed and hydrated skin, healthier food (compared to the beginning of 2018 anyway 😉 ) and working out more.
I think for the next couple of years, these three products will keep showing up in the list of yearly favorites. I rediscovered the Philosophy Hands of Hope Hand and Cuticle cream. It’s the perfect hand cream for me: not too greasy, it sinks in quickly, there’s not much of a scent to it and the hydration holds for almost the whole day.
A forever favorite of mine of hand care is Lemony Flutter by Lush. I use many jars of it in a year because I use it on my cuticles, elbows and feet. I need it the most when the weather starts getting colder because that’s when the skin on my hands gets so dry that it actually cracks :O. Luckily Lemony Flutter solves all the weather related problems.
This year I started using the Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm because I wanted to stop using lip balms with petroleum jelly after reading how it’s not the best ingredient for your lips. Since I’m using the Nuxe lip balm the moisturizer in my lips definitely improved: I now only apply it in the AM and PM once and that’s all I need.
Another forever life safer from Lush is Silky Underwear Dusting Powder. It’s been a favorite for a couple of years now and I mostly use it in the summer or after a workout to feel extra fresh after showering.
My two favorite body creams/body lotions have been (besides Rituals Karma) Marc Jacobs Daisy Love body lotion for when I want the perfume to last longer and Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey body & handlotion for when I want to smell very expensive, fresh and nice :). I rarely use it because it’s quite a strong scent that lasts for a long time, but I do really love the scent.
I recently blogged about my favorite Dry Shampoos. The clear winner and also my favorite of 2018 is the Briogeo Scalp Revival charcoal + biotine dry shampoo. It smells amazing, works well and lasts long.
A product that is not yet a favorite that I’d rebuy, but does deserve a special shout out, is the thisworks deep sleep pillow spray. I got this trial size in a Sephora France box. The scent is pretty strong so I do not always like it, but when I’m tired I like to spray a little bit in my room so I’m off to dream land quickly.
Last but not least in this part of my 2018 favorites are the three nail polishes that I exclusively wore this year (except for the colors when I had my nails done and for a occasional fun color that I only wear for one day). These are OPI Tiramisu for Two, OPI An Affair in Red Square and Essie Satin Slipper.
If I could only pick one I would go for Essie Satin Slipper because this is the only regular nail polish ever that for a week or even more before becoming ugly. It might chip a bit but it’s still pretty.
Tiramisu for Two is my favorite basic nail color but unfortunately, it gets ugly so fast. For special occasions I love OP An Affair in Red Square. It’s such a gorgeous and powerful red.
What are your 2018 favorites in the categories skin, body, hand, hair and fragrance? I’d love to hear it all from you guys!
