After the great Allure Beauty Box of December 2018, I was very curious to see what the box of January would bring. The sneak peek already revealed that there would be a brand new Sunday Riley product included, but I had no idea about the other products.
Starting with this month, the Allure Beauty Box would come with a see through pouch. The idea is nice and all, but the quality of this months pouch is awful (smelly, sticky plastic that already ripped open on the side) and I already saw that the February box would have exactly the same pouch but in a different color.
Not sure what to do with all those pouches… If it was up to me, I would’ve excluded the pouch.
On to the products though! This box has two skincare products, two hair products and two make-up products.
First up: two brand new Sunday Riley products! Sunday Riley is such a popular brand and has some cult favorite skincare products like the Luna Sleeping Oil and the Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment.
These two products featured in the Allure Beauty Box just recently launched: the C.E.O. Glow vitamin C + turmeric face oil and the A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum.
A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum:
An advanced-strength retinoid serum that delivers a six-and-a-half percent solution of stabilized retinoid blends and botanical retinol-alternative extracts into the skin.
The C.E.O. Glow vitamin C + turmeric face oil didn’t even launch yet! I did see sneak peeks on some websites already but right now I can’t find it anywhere. However, I see on the Instagram of Sunday Riley that it’s launching on the first of March! This is one hell of an early reveal of the product then in the Allure Beauty Box, awesome!
For both skincare products goes that I will save them for a time when I want to try them out. My skin has been struggling lately, I’ve been getting all these little bumps on my face. I figured it had something to do with my skincare so I stripped my routine down to one face cream and one eye cream that I know work for my skin. My skin improved since but I don’t want to start trying out all these random products for issues that don’t apply to my skin tone.
I’m positive you can find some great reviews on other blogs :).
I’m very excited for this Ouai Scalp & Body Scrub. Ouai is such a well loved brand for haircare and a scalp scrub is something I have no idea about how it will work out, but I sure am curious to find out. I wouldn’t mind a little less oil on my scalp!
I will get back to you after trying this product out.
The first make-up product is this Doucce Relentless Matte Lip Crayon. I do not need any new lipsticks right know and I won’t wear this shade much (even though it’s a gorgeous shade), so I’ll be passing this on to a friend.
The second make-up product is this Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra. It is a very creamy and shiny eyeshadow stick. The shade is a bit brown/green/broze-ish which is not completely up my street but I will hold on to this. I think it’s a gorgeous shade and it’s very easy to use.
The last product is one I am very excited about. This is the Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask. The scent of Amika hair products is amazing and I can’t wait for this mask to do it’s magic on my hair and for it leaving my hair smelling the absolute best. I will get back to you about how I’ve liked this hair mask!
What do you think of the products in this month’s Allure Beauty Box? I love how Allure featured two products of which one just launched and the other one hasn’t even launched yet!
