Pixi by Petra Glow-y Gossamer Duo in Subtle Sunrise

A highlighter that I saw a lot of people raving about is the Pixy by Petra Glow-y Gossamer Duo. I wasn’t really interested in it though until I saw my friend Yasmin (@solatice_ on Instagram, go follow her because she’s insanely talented!) wearing it and I. was. sold! This is the kind of highlighter that looks mweh in the pan and swatched, but on the face it’s out of this world!

You can see that this highlighter is very glowy, already at first sight from the pan. However, when I see these shades, I see a weird shade with a dark undertone. Not something that I’d expect to work on my fair skin tone.

When swatched I think: those would make two gorgeous shimmery eyeshadow shades. Because you can see the gorgeous all over glow this product has. However, I’m still not wowed over an extreme glow or a very special shade…

Do you know how Beauty Youtubers are always mentioning that a swatch doesn’t say much about a product? Well this is the prove for that! Are you ready for the reveal of how it looks on my face?!

Say whaaaat?! Looks at how amazingly gorgeous and glowy this highlighter is! Wow wow wow! To pick up the product I actually have to ‘dig’ into the pan with my brush, but then when I apply it on the cheekbone I can see it lighten up and almost melting together with the skin. I am so amazed by the formula of this highlighter.

It’s a highlighter that gives you that amazing wet look with a not from this world glow, but at the same time it blends gorgeously with all the other make-up and it doesn’t leave weird stripes. Also, when I don’t layer it this much and I just go for one layer, the highlighter is still bright and wet looking but not that overpowering as in these pictures. Also, I like to mix but the yellow/gold shade and the pink-ish shade together for a warm, candle light glow. I get why they named the shade ‘Subtle Sunrise’ for the Sunrise part, there’s just nothing subtle about this highlighter at all haha.

Love love love love this highlighter! If you want to pick up a new highlighter soon then I 10000% recommend this one! Love it!
