I’ve done quite some make-up hauling the last couple of months because of my trips to London and Canada so I’ll be posting about some great new finds soon on Weeks of Beauty. Before I start with the new though, I want to take a moment a appreciate the products I’ve been using in 2019 so far, that are now empty.
Let’s get ready for the Empties 2019!
I’m glad to say I did well with using up products the last year. I’ve been saving up the empty bottles and jars since October 2018. I did not save everything though, just everything I would want to mention or compare.
It was a year full of mascaras. In the beginning of 2019 I was still trying out different mascaras at the same time, but at some point I decided it’s actually a waist because after a couple of months it’s either dried out or expired.
My absolute favorite is still the L’Óreal Paradise Extatic waterproof (Lash Paradise Waterproof in the Americas). That’s the mascara that I’ve always got ‘in stock’. Other mascaras I liked were the Essence Get Big! Lashes waterproof mascara, the Hourglass Cuation mascara and the Dior Pump ‘n Volume mascara.
I also loved what the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes did to my lashes, but it’s not smudge proof or waterproof (the tiniest bit of waterdust would make it smudge) so I won’t be using it again.
At this moment my go to combination of mascara is the Glossier Lash Slick mascara to start with for separation and lengthening and the L’Óreal Paradise Extatic waterproof mascara to make the lashes bigger and waterproof.
These two are my go to setting sprays. I use MAC Fix+ to wet my brushes and Beautyblender and I adore the Urban Decay All Nighter spray to set my make-up. I almost finished a jumbo size of the All Nighter actually and I will be purchasing it again, for probably forever :).
For concealer I used up the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away concealer in 03 Fair and the Revolution Conceal & Define concealer. I repurchased both. The Charlotte Tilbury one is for the light make-up days and the Revolution concealer is for more heavy duty make-up.
The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea concealer I did not enjoy that much. It actually expired. It’s nice for light coverage but when I discovered the Magic Away concealer, it realized it’s not for me.
Two of my absolute favorite products are the Dior Lip Glow in 001 Pink and the Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder. I repurchased the Lip Glow in a different shade and I purchased the Hourglass powder in a full size jar.
For hair care I don’t use much products. Shampoo and conditioner have been the same for ages. I loved the smell of the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo so it deserves a shout out and the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! conditioning mask made my hair so extremely soft, but I did not like the scent that much so won’t be repurchasing it again.
And here’s the skincare department! I used to love trying out all these different kind of products but I discovered that my skin is actually very sensitive and I might be allergic to some ingredients just recently. So in 2019 I did not use up that much skincare products. Only these products that my skin could handle.
The Origins Ginzing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer and eye cream are both my absolute favorites. As you can see, I keep repurchasing it because it’s THE product that works for my skin. It’s refreshing, moisturizing and it gives my skin a healthy glow.
I discovered the Nuxe rêve de miel ultra-nourishing lip balm and it’s the first lip balm without petroleum that actually works for me.
I also loved the Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil, which I repurchased.
Last is the body care department! You may already know that I basically can’t live without the Lush Silky Underwear Dusting Powder and the Lush Lemony Flutter cuticle cream. I keep using up both and repurchasing.
I also love the philosophy hands of hope hand cream. I used up several tubes of it this year.
My absolute favorite scent from the past two years is the Rituals Ritual of Karma scent. I used up a bed & body mist and I’m already half way my second bottle.
Lot’s of succesvol favorites this year! What products do you use up the most? Let me know!
