2019 Lip Favorites

I can’t believe it… it’s true… I am back! I have been MIA big time lately for all different sorts of reasons being work, studying, Holidays etc. But the good thing is that Weeks of Beauty is back in business! Even though we are already halfway through January (wait what, already?!) I still want to share my 2019 favorites with all of you.

For me, 2019 was the year of sticking to favorites, beauty-wise. So I really have a good sense of what products I enjoyed the most in 2019. Let’s start with the lip products!

Also, a little disclaimer: my blogs and mostly my pictures are going to be a little bit different for a while because I have had an allergic reaction around my eyes. I obviously don’t want to make it worse by covering it with make-up, so I am only going to wear makeup on my eyes when it’s concerning an eyeshadow review :).

This picture shows all my favorite lips products of 2019, both lip color and lip care.

A huge favorite of mine is the Dior Lip Glow. I always carry one with me in my bag because I love the glow and sheer tint it gives my lips, the moisturizing and I adore the scent! So sweet, reminding me of marshmallows.

The swatches are from left to right: Pink, Berry, Raspberry and Pink (Glow to the Max).

Dior just launched the Lip Glow Oil and I will definitely be trying those out soon since I am loving this whole Lip Glow movement. I also like the NARS Afterglow Lip Balm in Orgasm, but I do prefer the Dior Lip Glow more.

Speaking of NARS! These three products are my holy grails when it comes to lip care. I always apply a generous layer of product on my lips when going to bed and a little layer at the start of the day.

The NARS Orgasm Oil-Infused Lip Tint is the product I grab when I need to comfort dry lips. The oil makes my lips very soft and ‘comfortable’ and it gives my lips the most gorgeous glow and a sheer tint.

When my lips are really dry, I go for the Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm. It’s more thick, moisturizes the lips and locks in the moisture.

My recent discovery is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It’s very light on the lips, moisturizes and the smell/taste of this one is so good! Like strawberry bubblegum.

Last up the lipsticks I apply when I want some color on the lips. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution have been my favorites when it comes to color and formula in 2019 and before. The three shades I currently enjoy most are Pillow Talk, Very Victoria and Walk of Shame.
I like it when my lipstick stays put and when I apply to much of this, it will move around so I apply it generously and then blot a lot of with a tissue. Still a lot of color but not a lot of product. I recently added Bond Girl to my collection of Matte Revolution lipsticks and I am sure it will be featured in the favorites of 2020 :).

When I need some assurance that my lipstick will stay put and not fade, I grab the Glossier Generation G lipsticks. The product is a little bit drying and the shade is not very intense, but it. stays. put. I love how ‘blotted’ the shades also look on my lips. I hope Glossier will launch some more shades of Generation G soon!

What was your favorite lipstick of 2019? I would love to see some recommendations to try out in 2020!
