Work from home staples #stayhome

In the Netherlands, we’ve been social distancing for a little over a month now, since March the 13th. The full out glam looks I keep reserved for my days off work because then I’ve got the time to enjoy putting on my make-up.

On the days without video meetings I honestly don’t put on any make-up at all. But when I do have a video meeting I like to look put together with minimal effort, so in this blog, I will be sharing my ‘work from home’/’video meeting’ staples! I am also very curious about your work from home/chill from home staples, so let me know in the comments what yours are right now!

This is the overview of the products I’m keeping around. I’m shaking my head while looking at this picture because I was just rambling about my minimal effort, haha.

First up is my favorite scents these days” the Rituals Ritual of Karma bed & body mist. The scent is divine and not too strong, so I won’t get overwhelmed with my own perfume.

For when I’ve been staring at my computer for too long, I like to get some head space by staring out of the window for at least 5 minutes (besides the essential lunch and tea breaks, of course) and I roll some Origins Peace of Mind behind my ears. It’s cooling and it’s aromatherapy so it should relax a bit too.

When I’m going out for a walk or grocery shopping, I always keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket. The ones from Bath and Body Works are a favorite because of their lovely scents. However, I do realize that hand sanitizer is not going to keep me safe. It’s an extra step for some peace of mind.

After all that disinfecting and hand washing, my hands needs some extra love. During the day I’m loving the Rituals Ritual of Karma hand lotion and at night I put on some cuticle oil and the Rituals Ritual of Ayurveda hand balm. On the days when my hands are extremely dry, I grab the Lush Lemony Flutter balm. That’s an always staple.

Then on to skincare. I switch around products from time to time and I’m planning on doing a skincare routine blog soon, but these are the three products I keep using.

The Origins Ginzing Oil-Free Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer has been a favorite for a year or so and it will probably be that for many years to come.

When my skin needs some extra moisture I apply the Glossier Super Bounce serum. It contains hyaluronic acid and it feels soothing on the skin.

Every morning I also apply some sunscreen because I take a walk almost every morning before starting to work and during lunch I like to sit in the sun for a bit (we’ve been lucky with some sunny weather the last couple of weeks). I start the day of with some Tatcha Pore Perfecting Sunscreen or the Supergoop Daily Sunscreen Moisturizer. Before sitting outside later on the day I reapply my sunscreen.

What’s not on the pictures but an important staples as well is some face powder. I don’t really have a favorite for that but after applying sun screen my forehead is really glowy and it looks weird on the Microsoft Teams camera when my forehead catches the light, so I blot the day away with some powder… 🙂

Last but not least are the make-up products I like to throw on my face in the morning to make it appear I am still putting in some effort, haha. I always go for the Glossier Lash Slick mascara to give my eyes a bit of definition.

On some days I like to add a little glow (mostly for myself, though) by either using the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand or the Glossier Futuredew on my cheekbones.

Lastly, I like to use the NARS Afterglow Lip Balms or the Dior Lip Glow Oil for a little oomph glow on the lips.

For moisturizing the lips I still enjoy the Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm the most, followed by Glossier balmdotcom in original and rose.

These are all my working from home staples. What are your staples in these times?
